The ECHO Awards 2019

We are delighted to announce that St. Edmunds's Choir has been chosen as a finalist in the Arts and Performance category for The ECHO Awards 2019!

Thank you to all our singers, family, friends and audiences who help us continue to be one of Liverpool’s most inclusive choirs.

Ever since 1997, our aim has been to bring music to the people of Waterloo, Crosby, Merseyside and beyond. We take pride in our inclusive approach to music and concert selections and apply the same principle to our unrestricted membership.

In the last 12 months alone, we have connected with more people than ever before – both singers, audience members and online engagement. Our audiences have exceeded 10,000 people for the first time ever and our videos online have been viewed as far as New Zealand and Japan.

Locally, we have received support from more than 15 businesses who have pledged financial and in-kind support to keep the Choir free. The volunteers who manage the running of the Choir have given more than 2,000 hours of their time to keep us going and continue to source other ways to grow and develop the work we do.

Being a finalist in this year’s awards shows the impact singing has on a group of people; from making friends, performing at events, to well-being and developing skills, St. Edmund’s Choir is much more than a church choir.

We have grown from four people to more than 70 and share one thing in common – a #LoveToSing
