And so we turn the page and begin our latest chapter.
Chapter 1: Martin
Chapter 2: Charlie
Chapter 3: Ben
This September is the start of our 27th Season as a community choir in Liverpool that is Free, Fun and For Everyone.
At the end of the last season we celebrated our previous Director, Charlie, as he got married, and made the monumental decision, along with his husband, to emigrate to New Zealand. We wished them well and laughed and cried with them. Now, as we approach the start of our new rehearsal season, we welcome Ben as our third director. Ben has been with the choir since 2022 and is one of the lead musicians in the parish where our choir is based, St Oscar Romero in Seaforth and Waterloo.
Ben studied music at the University of Liverpool and specialised in composition under Andrew Keeling. He composes in a variety of styles and has had his compositions performed in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the USA. He enjoys all forms of music and is practically an encyclopedia on the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ben has already programmed three concerts in his inaugural year:
Holidays are coming - Sunday 15th December at 6pm in St Edmund of Canterbury Church, Waterloo
Songs of the Sea - Saturday 8th March at 7pm in Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church, Seaforth
Who am I? - Sunday 13th July at 7pm in St Edmund of Canterbury Church.
Ticket information will be available in due course.
Whether you are one of our choristers, a friend or family member or if you've just come across us while searching on the web - you are all welcome. Come along and listen to concerts, or if you feel inclined, join us in rehearsals and sing at the concerts! We're always looking for both new members and new friends to come and listen to us. The more the merrier!
