Make a Joyful Noise with SEMusic

Following the success of last year’s year of music, SEMusic hosting more music events over the next year at St Oscar Romero Parish.

St Oscar Romero Parish is the home of SEMusic, which started life as St Edmund’s Choir, today they are made up of two inclusive choirs featuring more than 90 members aged 6 to 88. With a repertoire spanning Abba to Zadok the Priest, they have performed a variety of concerts across Liverpool City Region but now the focus turns to supporting their home parish celebrating music in Seaforth and Waterloo.

As well as SEMusic, there will be events by Tongues of Fire, led by Mike Anderson, as well as the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Choir. Best of all, the majority of the events being produced are completely free to attend, with donations welcomed to help support the running costs and support the work of the Parish and SEMusic.

Charlie Corkin, Director of SEMusic and Parish Music Lead for St Oscar Romero Parish said “we are fortunate to have two stunning venues by having both of our church buildings and there’s no better way to use them than filling them with song.

“We have curated a variety of services that cater for all from the silliness of Assembly Bangers to take us back to the 90s school hall and Cabaret evenings to the more solemn reflections of Good Friday and ending the year on a high with Mayhymn and Musicals.”

Charlie continued “the partnership between SEMusic and St Oscar Romero Parish dates back to the late 90s when it was part of St Edmund of Canterbury church and one of our key priorities is making sure that we can continue to bring music to the community, either through concerts and events or at services, for years to come.”

Ticket prices vary from free to £12 and all money raised goes back to supporting the work of SEMusic at St Oscar Romero Parish. Tickets can be bought online here.
