Get back to singing!

Socialising. Lifting spirits. Sense of community. Learning skills. Confidence boosting. Reduces snoring...

...they're just a few benefits of singing!

We are delighted to be resuming "almost normal" rehearsals at SEMusic again as we begin to plan for Christmas and beyond. On Sunday, our St. Edmund's Choir rehearsal had more than 40 singers join together to make music once again and it was lovely to see faces old, new and everything in between.

- and the door is still open for more singers to join us!

We are the only completely free group of choirs in Crosby and Waterloo. There are no auditions, no experience needed and no fees - we believe everyone should have access to the arts. We welcome people who haven't been part of a choir before, have been singing for decades or those who just want to try out something new.

St. Edmund's Choir meets on Sundays at 7pm in St. Edmund's Church. #LoveToSing, our children's choir meet on Wednesdays at 5:30pm in the Lisbonian Room (entrance through the conservatory) at St. Edmund's Church, Oxford Road, Waterloo.

It is extra exciting for us to be able to meet again as next year, SEMusic - which began as St. Edmund's Choir - turns 25. It's an incredible milestone for what began as a small group.

Christmas events

Before we get there, we do have Christmas to get through - and we are delighted to be presenting two events this year.

#LoveToSing will be producing Christmas Songs and Stories - an afternoon of Christmas treats for all the family - and no Christmas is complete without an evening of Christmas music with St. Edmund's Choir.

SEMusic - team update

In order to gear up for our events and keep our work going, we've had a bit of a reshuffle within our team.

Hannah Wainwright

We are pleased to announce that Hannah Wainwright will be joining us as Assistant Director (Engagement & Events) to oversee our programme of concerts, events and to look after our singers.

Hannah has been a friend of SEMusic for more than ten years, singing at concerts and events as soloist and as part of the choir. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from her musical background.

Hannah will be taking on a lot of the work that Katherine Daly has done for the last six years as Katherine will be going on maternity leave at the end of this year - congratulations to Katherine, and a huge thanks to all she has done for us at SEMusic!

Sophie McQueen will also be stepping up to the role of Deputy Director for SEMusic and will continue to oversee the work of #LoveToSing and Services.

There's a lot of exciting things to come next year when we hit our 25th birthday - and we can't wait to tell you what we have in store!
